Marty is pretty much the spitting image of his Tale self. It's difficult for him to tell where Robin Hood ends and he begins. Subsequently certain parts of his life have echoed his Tale. Originally from a small town in Minnesota where he grew up with Ian Gorman (SIR GUY OF GISBORNE), Marty was forever that kid who attempted to bully the bullies. After graduating from Woodsbridge Academy, he moved away from the town to live in a Mundane part of California where he married Veda Patel (SCHEHERAZADE), and got a job as a cop, figuring that maybe in this life he could work within the system. It only took the better part of twenty years for him to realize that he'd been wrong about that one.

He started taking step after step in the wrong direction, breaking laws to help where he could, even if his version of "helping" wasn't the kind of thing that most people would have seen as morally right. Ultimately, he fought the law and the law won. He was fired, and not four days later he was met with divorce papers from Veda, who couldn't stand by and watch as Marty blew up their lives anymore than he already had. And so, upon recieving a job offer from Thomas Tuttle, Marty went back to Woodsbridge to speak to the man. The idea didn't thrill him, it would be a job, that was true, but, it would only be a job. And then Thomas mentioned a couple of Tales who had run into issues since registration had become a fact of life in Woodsbridge. And then the job hadn't seemed quite so bad, in fact, it had started to look like the perfect cover. The Hand of Grimm was formed shortly after, and Marty has spent the last seven years working at the Academy and doing less than legal but ultimately important work with the Hand of Grimm.

"Well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Former child star and current Drama Professor at Woodsbridge Academy, Charlie is the antithesis of her source material. She is one of those people who are really great at putting on a fake sweet/nice face when underneath it she's kind of a selfish bitch. Charlie has a complicated and messed up relationship with her Tale identity because while she might be pretty but she's not the bland, passive, good person that the original Sleeping Beauty (and even more so the Disney Version) seemed to be. In the last year Charlie has seen two of her friends (and unknown Talemates) outed, Elias Bishop (THE EVIL FAIRY) and Jack Danby (THE PRINCE) before she was outed herself.

Although she is largely "fake" with anyone but close friends, this outward appearance is essentially an amour that she developed as a child who had to grow up far too fast. But don't take that to mean that she's secretly a nice person underneath it all, because she's not. As soon as she meets a person, Charlie begins saving up information that could be used to hurt them, as long as you stay off her radar or on her good side, she doesn't have a habit of attacking unprovoked. Though things seem to be calming down in her life, both of her parents are now residing in Woodsbridge, an absentee father looking to connect, Nick Emelin (KOSHEI THE DEATHLESS) and a stage mother, Cheryl Quinn, who Charlie would like to erase from her life permanently. Charlie's main hope for 2017 is to make sense of the way her life was upended in 2017.

The second child (as far as he knows) of Saul Montgomery THE STEP-MOTHER FROM THE WILD SWANS, Harrison's parents relationship didn't survive long after his birth. And so, Harrison grew up with his mother in NYC, only seeing Saul for brief fun "Disneyland Parent" outings. Harrison was a sarcastic, mischievous child who grew into a sarcastic, mischievous tween just in time for his powers to develop. Mischief creation is a funny thing, you don't get to choose what kind of mischief is going on around you. Like most kids, Harrison would get annoyed, and because he was a Boggart, things would happen. A neighbor would yell at him for kicking a ball into her roses, and a few days later the plant would wither and die. His mother would ground him, and her favorite vase would take a tumble onto the floor. He'd be mad at the world and there would be strange sounds permeating throughout the house, as though it might be haunted.

It took a while for his other powers to make themselves known (heeeey if anyone is interested in picking up his mother we could do fun stuff with this!) but Harrison was always accepting of who he was, or who he had been depending on who you asked. So much so that during college he spent his free time charging people for "haunting's," a habit that eventually led him to leave New York when too many people seemed to be catching on. In the fall of 2016, Harrison moved to Woodsbridge where he'd applied for an Internship at the Business Office. He's currently crashing at his dad's house because why pay rent when you don't have to, right?

Harriett moved to Woodsbridge with her mother, Amara Carroll MAID MARIAN after the death of her father. Which ended up being just in time for high school to start, before the move, when Harriett's powers had started to develop, she was forced to give up her dream of being on the US Olympic swim team because, well, it wouldn't really be fair. Although it was a long and rough transition, Harriett eventually made a home (and several friends) in Woodsbridge. And took up new hobbies to replace her dashed dreams, namely hunting down shipwrecks off the Woodsbridge coast, going for dives, and keeping a diary to record every event in her life large or small.

Harriett is one of those people who are friendly with a lot of different people and get along with a lot of different groups but somehow never manage to have just one really really really close friend. Or she managed to until Billy Sinclair WILL SCARLET moved to Woodsbridge permanently last summer. Having a BFF is something she's still getting used to, along with the fact that her mother has finally started to date again, pile a growing fear that she'll never be able to pick a major onto that and her life just keeps getting more complicated by the day.
